COVID-19 Response from TouchMath

Dear TouchMath community,

As our country deals with the challenge of responding to COVID-19, the disease caused by coronavirus, TouchMath remains committed to our mission of helping students conquer math. We acknowledge the difficulties facing educators, administrators, parents and students during these uncertain times.

With more and more school districts announcing planned closures, TouchMath wants to support efforts to keep students learning and progressing in their math education. We have compiled recommendations for assigning and completing TouchMath lessons in a home environment,  listed below. Please add any suggestions to our Facebook page or reach out to us on Twitter, via email ([email protected]) or through the Contact Us form our website.

Helping Students Use TouchMath at Home

  • Print off packets of worksheets from our Standards-Based and RTI Units to send home with students.
  • Use the teacher guide (accessible on the Green Editions site) to build lessons using the worksheets. Worksheets can be emailed to each student’s family to print or access online. Students can write the answers on the worksheets or a separate piece of paper that can be photographed and sent to your email address, or in a Google Doc and uploaded to your Google Classroom.
  • Make sure students take home their student number cards and Desktop TouchLines.
  • If you are doing video check-ins with your students who have internet access, consider using Zoom. The platform has waived subscription fees for educators and students in light of the global pandemic.
  • Our TouchMath Counting and Jungle Addition Apps are available for free in the App Store and  (bit.ly/TMcounting & bit.ly/TMaddition) and Google Play (bit.ly/TMgooglePlay).

The TouchMath Green Editions

Any educator who uses our Classic or Standards-Based Units has access to the digital version, the TouchMath Green Editions. This playlist of short videos explains how to use our Green Editions.

  • If you have not done so, register the license keys on the unit boxes or that you received with your order so that you have online access to the curriculum
    • Go to www.touchmathgreeneditions.com and log in. If you have not created an account you can create one using the link below the log in fields.
    • Use the Register New License field to enter the license keys. If you did not receive them via email or in an envelope with your order, they are on the unit boxes that came with your order near the bar code.
    • If you are not able to locate the license keys, contact us at 1-800-888-9191 or [email protected]. We can help.
  • Log in to the Green Editions
    • Print the quick start guide for teachers.
    • Watch Green Editions Training: Access Content and Getting Started.
    • Set up a folder for “School From Home” to store the activity sheets you are sending home.
    •  Download the activities to a Dropbox or Google Drive folder that parents can access, or download them to your computer and email the activities to parents.
    • Create a document for home-to-school connection activities which can be copied and pasted from the Green Editions.
    • Use the vocabulary suggestions to have students create their own wiki dictionary with links to the definition. Write a sentence or draw a picture of the terms.
    • Use the Literacy Connection titles/authors to find a YouTube reading of the book. Have 3 test-dependent questions for each book.
    • Ask students to illustrate what they have learned.
    • Encourage parents to download the free apps.
  • If you’re not sure whether or not you have access to the Green Edition, call TouchMath customer service (800-888-9191).
